Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Lips.

Most clients enjoy smooth lips for three to six weeks, depending on individual hair growth, hormones, and maintenance. Regular appointments help soften regrowth and can extend time between visits as hair becomes finer with repeated waxing.

Some mild, brief discomfort is normal, similar to a quick pinch. To reduce sensitivity, avoid caffeine before your appointment, gently exfoliate a few days prior, and consider taking an over-the-counter pain reliever 30 minutes beforehand if needed.

Cleanse the lip area and avoid heavy moisturizers or makeup on the day of service. Gently exfoliate two to three days prior and skip harsh treatments or retinoids for a week to reduce sensitivity and risk of irritation.

Minor redness, temporary irritation, or small bumps can occur but usually subside within hours to a day. Rarely, allergic reactions or ingrown hairs happen; our technicians perform patch tests when needed and provide post-care instructions to soothe skin and prevent complications.

Tell us about topical treatments or medications before your appointment. Avoid retinoids, glycolic acids, or other strong exfoliants for at least one week, and consult your provider if you use blood thinners or prescription drugs that increase sensitivity.

We recommend waiting at least a few hours before light makeup, and ideally 12-24 hours for full recovery. If redness or tenderness persists, delay makeup longer; use clean brushes and avoid heavy, pore-clogging products to prevent irritation or infection.
